A rainy day brought the group indoors for a mission with two connected parts. Children designed hornworm homes that could collect waste for easier cleaning, then made painted moths using symmetrical imprints.
Cutting rigid plastic fencing and securing it inside the enclosures took patience. Fresh tomato leaves helped prepare the habitats for their residents, while the painted moths connected the build to the transformation the children hoped to observe.
