Parachute Pals

Build a parachute that gives a desert animal a soft landing.

After testing several canopy materials ahead of the gathering, Michaela chose tissue paper for the childrenā€™s parachutes. Each child received a desert animal to carry safely down from the play structure.

The mission also included mystery seeds carried with the animals, giving the children a planting activity alongside the flight challenge. Building, releasing, and watching the parachutes connected their designs to something they could test for themselves.
