Pulley Power

Build a trap with a pulley and work out how to trigger it.

A leprechaun story launched the mission, and the children examined a model trap before beginning their own. The build combined a supporting structure, a suspended container, a pulley, and a trigger.

Making the parts work together required help, adjustment, and repeated trials. Children could test what happened when the mechanism was released and take their finished traps home to continue the story.
